Creating An Alphabet

As far as the objective behind this particular project, I was asked to create a poster displaying an alphabet designed by random objects or one object in particular from common, everyday life, and arrange them into letterforms to form a type of alphabet.

USING KETCHUP TO FORM LETTERS
This project was rather fun, though quite stressful at the same time. I loved being able to take a ketchup bottle and just have at it! Though I admit, tomatoes are one of my least favorite foods, so 'touching up' some of the mistakes didn't have the best taste.

While I had several ideas I wanted to try, this one seemed like one of the most controlled, inexpensive ideas that would allow me to keep the project elegant while still retaining some simplistic beauty and design. To make the letters easier to form, I used a ketchup bottle with a small, long opening for better control and cleaner results. By creating the letters on a white, ceramic plate, I was able to photograph the letters from an arial view and later photoshop them with relative ease, thanks to the contrast in color.

Of course, as far as the title of the typeface goes, I intented it to be rather 'punny,' but seeing as I am a rather boring person, this is the best I could come up with. However, I think it adds some fun character to the alphabet and illustrates the joy I had in creating this work.
